The flashlight's beam glints off the scattered treasure, nearly blinding James as he picks his way through the dark chamber. He holds his breath and tries to step between the coins and jewels so as not to disturb them and make a sound. He is straight up sneaking.
He is so slight a man that it's almost unnecessary--the sneaking. He is naturally light on his feet, always on the alert much like the deer he resembles thanks to the antlers crowning his brow. Every few steps he pauses and tilts his head to listen. He heard what he thinks may be the wind just beyond the walls, but he can't be sure. The chamber walls are too far away for his light to reach. As far as he knows, this room could go on forever.
JW shines his flashlight at the watch on his wrist. It was getting close to nine PM Hawksaw time. Maybe this was far enough. He'd marked his trail. Time to follow his footsteps back to the tree gate.
And of course collect a few souvenirs along the way.
He turns on the spot and starts to tip toe back the way he came only to pause near a particularly tall pile of treasure. He's never seen Aladdin so he doesn't know the rules. Like a curious bird, he leans in close and, with a single glance around to the darkness, plucks a ruby from the hoard and tucks it away in his shirt pocket. He pats it just to make sure it's in there.

Onward he skitters.
