"Yeah?" He guessed it would be now that he thought about it. They were what made him stand out and he'd had them as long as Ginko had known him. That meant Ginko would eventually see his stupid little fuzzy nubs that he tried to hide with a hat as long as he could.
JW didn't expect a reaction like that at all and Ginko's laughter just made him laugh, big ugly loud guffaws at his own stupid joke. Ginko's bulk was making him lean.
Fortunately, Ginko noticed something was up before they both just fell over entirely. He looked up from examining his leg and reached around JW's shoulders to pull him upright. "Careful - uh, sorry about that."
He blinked a couple times, shifting to try to stay upright on his own. "Mm... think I might need to lie down." He supposed it should be no surprise, given... well. The entire morning so far.
JW found himself tugged the other way, weighing little more than a handful of brooms. He caught himself on a rock and kept laughing.
"Haha, yeah, I think you'd better!" He all but shoved Ginko backwards so that he would lay down and gave his chest a few hearty thumps. Holy shit the guy is like a barrel.
Ginko moved to lay back on the ground, giving another soft laugh when JW thumped his chest. He looked up at the sky with a slight smile, slowly letting himself relax more now that he wasn't at risk of falling over or something.
He glanced at JW again after a few seconds, his expression shifting thoughtfully. "...Seriously, thanks. 'S nice not to have to just depend on luck for once."
Even with the weed buzz, anxiousness surrounding Ginko's injury did manage to snake its way back in. It dissipated though when he spoke up. JW's grin mellowed out. He'd never really thought about having a traveling buddy besides Deuteronomy. She couldn't sew.
Ginko gave a quiet hum of acknowledgement, another small smile flickering across his mouth for a moment. He finally let his eyes close, the warmth of JW next to him and the fire in front of them comforting after the morning's "excitement". It didn't take too much longer for him to fall asleep, his breathing settling into a steady rhythm.

"You should see me in a hat."

He winced a little, the laughter trailing off as another pang of pain went up his leg. "--Shit."
