"...Alright." Well that sure did just happen.

Ginko wandered over and looked over the produce curiously. "...Wow. Guess it would make sense that you'd have some of these here; back home, they've usually got to be imported. They're usually pretty pricey, too."
onegreeneye: that makes more sense (oh okay)

He shook his head after a moment of thought.

"...No, it's fine."

That sounded a lot like decision-making, which was not something he could do in these conditions.

"...Wow." Ginko crouched down in front of the tank, watching the crustaceans inside wander around. A couple of them were stepping on their tankmates.

"That'd keep them fresh, anyway. Are they just in there all the time?"
onegreeneye: (hey look)

He nodded thoughtfully. "Huh... some people did sell eels and such like this in markets back home. Didn't have tanks quite like this, though."
onegreeneye: do not even test me (i can talk about ghost bugs for hours)

Ginko continued looking a little like he wanted to disappear as they continued through the store, but the fish tanks provided a pretty good distraction, and he grinned as he crouched down to get a better look at the shrimp. "Hey, look at that..."

He glanced up at JW, the grin shifting a little bit toward a smirk. "For the record, the mushi you held looked a little like a bigger version of one of those."
onegreeneye: (huh)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-12-03 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"A couple; aquatic mushi are actually pretty common." He idly pointed out a couple in the tank, even if JW couldn't see them. "These ones are pretty harmless. They're likely just feeding on the algae in the tank."
onegreeneye: (siiigh)

"There are a few. Usually, they'll just look like something else." He straightened up, tucking his hands in his pockets. "Plants, flowers, insects..."

He stopped himself before saying 'humans'.

"They're out there."

Ginko leaned forward to examine the fish curiously. "These are fighting fish, aren't they? Seen a few of these before that were imported as pets."
onegreeneye: (i'm hilarious okay)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-12-07 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
The mushi master was thoroughly distracted looking over the fish themselves, sparing a brief glance at JW after a few moments. "Guess that'd be one way of handling it. Efficient use of resources and all that."
onegreeneye: (yes hello)

"That so?"

He looked... maybe vaguely impressed? It could be hard to tell with Ginko. But he didn't seem to notice the inconsistency, or doubt the story.

"Maybe we should go fishing sometime. Don't really get a lot of chances to do that with someone else."
onegreeneye: (about time)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-12-24 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ginko listened with some surprise; he hadn't quite expected this level of enthusiasm over the idea of a fishing trip, but alright.

"Sounds good - and convenient, apparently. Do you really have to have paperwork to go fishing here?" If that were the case back home, Ginko was pretty sure he would have starved to death a while ago, given that he had never in his life actually had official paperwork for much of anything.

"Huh... I know that there are some areas back home that are legally a specific person's property, but usually you've just got to talk to the owner if you end up in one of those." Or you avoid getting caught. Like Ginko had had to do a couple times when he was especially desperate.

Ginko glanced over the covers, raising an eyebrow slightly. He didn't even know what these were. "Uh... well, I'm not sure what to think of most of them, honestly... what's this?"

He leaned over to point out a DVD of some nature documentary. The cover showed an underwater shot of some sort of deep-sea fish, a few spots glowing brightly in the darkness.
