WIN MY MUSE'S HEART IN 20 COMMENTS OR LESS

How to play:

Reply to one of my characters' headers (you don't have to respond to the flavortext) and put a 1 in your subject line! I'll reply with a 2 and so on. We'll count them down to 20. Then the date is over! Time to swap seats! Where is this date taking place? It doesn't really matter! This scenario is bendable to most game settings. AU's are also available, feel free to contact me or ask OOCly before we start counting down comments. Or it could just take place in the void or some Cosmic Denny's! The point of this meme is to test out chemistry or just watch hilarity unfold!

And who knows, you might get to go home with someone!

I guess. What's that gotta do with me, though? I do shit all the time, you don't see me using math.

[Okay now he's just screwing with you, but that's probably obvious by the smirk that crosses his features as he leans back in his chair, primary arms folding behind his head while the second pair lay across his lap.]

_{[Roman is easy to ruffle.]}

Alright then, smart guy, c-can you do anything cool?

[Adrian clicks his tongue thoughtfully, antennae twitching as he thinks.

Then, he nods at the candle on the table center between them.]

Here. Do me a favor and blow that out. Then hold it up for me.

_{[He lifts a brow but complies, making a show out of blowing all three of them out at once.]}

Have at it, Houdini.

[Adrian waits until Roman has the candle held up and completely out before he leans forward across the table, right up close. He takes a breath and blows, a flame following the air he breathes out to light the wicks, one by one with a slight shift of his head.

Once they're all lit he leans back again, running his tongue over his teeth with his smirk never fading.]

Impressed?

_{[Romany's little goat ears flare out to the sides as the burst of flames makes its appearance. Once the surprise has passed, he's grinning too. He leans across the table to take back the candles, watching the flames to see if they have any special properties.]}

Uh, YEAH!

_{[This date has improved. But Roman' can't just let Adrian think he's the hotshot at the table. Roman releases the candles and allows them to float unsteadily about a foot over the tabletop.]

[Brow waggle.]}

[The flames themselves seem pretty normal. Adrian remembered always complaining to his parents how he wished he could learn how to make them different colors, only to be told that his biology didn't work that way. Not unless he wanted the heat of his flames to be face melting.

He raises a brow at the display, crossing one leg over his knee.]

Telekinetic, huh?

_{[He's still grinning as he bobs his head. He holds up a clawed finger.]}

But wait! There's more!

_{[The little demon waves his hand above the flames and he tugs them from the wicks, painting a few arcs and swirls through the air as if they were paint. He then proceeds to draw a REALLY SHITTY smiley face with antennae that is supposed to be a portrait of Adrian.]}

Damn, now you're just showing off.

[It might be awful, but something about that makes him laugh under his breath. Really, he's just glad Roman's the real deal. No magic.]

What else is this date thing even for?

_{[He waves away the flames and puts the candles back down before he catches one of the other tables on fire and they both get kicked out.]}

Alright, your t-turn.

[Hey, at least he'd be able to say his night was interesting, if that happened.]

Well, I don't exactly have any more parlor tricks for you. Unless...

[He glances around briefly to make sure nobody's watching them all that carefully before sitting up and quickly shrugging off his jacket, hanging it over the back of his chair.

There's a strange noise that follows as he turns back to face Roman, a shifting sound like silk fabric rubbing against itself as long, black and red streaked appendages unfold from the area of his shoulders. They fan out very briefly before draping over the back of his seat, mostly out of view, but since Roman was looking he will have been able to see that they were wings.]

Any more than that and they're gonna make me leave, but I doubt anyone's payin' us any mind.

_{[When the wings appear, Roman doesn't even try to hide how impressed he is. His mouth forms a perfect letter o for a long moment before he breaks into that sharky grin again. His tail is buffeting the chair at the table behind them. Adrian may not be a lumberjack but he was getting neater and neater by the minute.]}

Oh wow! Oh, that's c-cool! Can you fly with them? Of course you can, why else would you have them? I wanna see!

_{[He decides to leave his own pitiful webbed wings hidden because...well they're just sad and don't have COOL TRIPES.]}

Sure I can. It'd be pretty disappointing if I couldn't, wouldn't it?

[He's not surprised that Roman wants a closer look, but even as he says that it causes his shoulders to square just a little.]

Uhh...sure, just don't touch.

[He's getting flashbacks of Misha yanking on his antennae already...]

_{[He's already reaching when Adrian warns him. Roman quickly folds his hands in his lap and smiles innocently. Now that he thinks about it, he thinks he has heard something about not touching a butterfly's wings. Naturally he can't tell moth wings and butterfly wings apart.]}

What's it like? I can only float.

_{[He's too much of a weenie to try floating too high off the ground because THAT power requires the utmost concentration. He has busted his ass a number of times.]}

It's alright. I mean, it's not like I can fly real high like an eagle or nothin'. But I can get around.

[It takes more energy to make his wings big enough to fly any great distance, and even then it takes a lot of stamina. He couldn't fly at all the first few years, but 11 years of building muscle in your arms and shoulders helps make it easier.]

That's still c-cool though! You could dive right off a roof! Or off a mountain! Or--

_{[DING! The buzzer goes off and the demon's ears actually droop a little. He wasn't expecting much out of this whole speed-dating thing, but now he's sorry to see it's over.]}

So, uh, see you 'round?

[Adrian chuckles as he stands and retrieves his jacket, rolling his shoulders as he lets his wings disappear again in preparation for moving to the next person.]

Yeah. Maybe I will.
