[MEME] OH NO A GHOST

OKAY LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS.
I wanna play a ghost. Below are some prompts.
I'm not super picky about setting or 'verse.

A- Your character is a paranormal investigator, an obnoxious tv show host, or is otherwise exploring an area that is said to be haunted for whatever reason. Maybe it's a dare.

B- My character's ghost just SHOWS UP in your character's home. Did your character buy some haunted shit off ebay? Maybe my character died nearby or was summoned via Ouija board by some stupid teenagers at that party you hosted last month. Either way, you got yourself a haunted house now. Congrats.

C- Your character is also a ghost. Maybe they died together. Maybe my character is new to this whole being dead thing and yours shows them the ghostly ropes. Maybe it's the other way around. Either way, ghost adventures are had. _{Not currently looking for new PLSs with this plot!}

D- Your character is a necromancer-type-person and has summoned mine's spirit to do their bidding.

E- Your character is an exorcist and is here to shoo mine out of their current haunt or otherwise help them move on.

F- Our characters are friends. Mine died and has returned to hang out/help/finish some business with yours.

G- Your character moves into the house mine is currently haunting. EXCUSE U.

H- POSSESSION. It happened somehow.

_{[He drifts down, finally righting himself and placing his feet just an inch above the floor--it was about as close as he could get without it feeling weird--to bar her way.]}

Look, I'm begging you, just forget about it. And I'm the guy he killed! Maybe he had a good reason!

_{[The ghost opens his mouth...and then shuts it.]}

Look, detective, you just discovered proof of life after death and the first thing you wanna do is go find a murderer?

No, the first thing I wanted to do was talk to you and learn more about your situation. Now I want to find a murderer because now I know there was one to begin with.

[toothaches]

_{[Maurice drops his arms by his sides and heaves a faux-sigh. The temperature in the stairwell drops drastically and little beads of moisture form on the railing.]}

Okay...okay, look. Maybe I fibbed a little because I wanted to impress you.

[hunter2_0]

Nice try.

[Yes, Maurice, she is assuming that you are lying about having lied so that she won't try to go after a murderer that TOTALLY EXISTS.]

_{[The ghost's face is a perfect picture of horror and frustration.]}

I'm telling the truth! What do I have to do, spell it out for you with a ouija board?

[She crosses her arms, frowning incredulously at him.]

Who lies about being murdered? How is that impressive, it's just horrifying.

[She doesn't get it?? Who would do that]

_{[Maurice's whole outline fluctuates, as though he's suddenly made of strange transparent fire instead of...whatever he was made of moments ago. The ghost clutches his head and lets out a defeated groan.]}

Who the hell wants the very first ghost they meet to be someone who died from being a COMPLETE IDIOT and TRIPPING?

[...Wow. He's serious this time, isn't he.

Artemis relaxes fractionally, though she doesn't look any happier with him. A ghost doing something stupid is way less stressful to think about than a potential murderer.]

...Accidents happen. And It's not like I've spent my life thus far just waiting for the day I could meet the ghost of a murder victim.

[toothaches]

_{[The flames of his hair continue to waft upwards, but his shoulders have died down quite a bit. He heaves a chilly sigh and lets his arms fall by his sides, dark eyes averted.]}

Most people do...people...expect you to hang around because of some super dramatic reason.

[She sighs, her shoulders slumping a little.]

That seems kind of ridiculous. If they think they're in a place to be making assumptions about ghosts, that's their problem, not yours.

[It only makes sense to her that one shouldn't make assumptions about things they don't actually know anything about... even if she may have done that herself a couple times in the past. Oh well.]

[toothaches]

_{[Maurice offers up a miserable shrug. Finally his outline returns to normal and he sinks down and appears to 'sit' on an invisible chair in front of the door.]}

[After a few seconds, she uncrosses her arms and sits down on the floor, still frowning.]

...Just, maybe think before saying things like that, alright?

How many people have talked to you like this since you died, anyway?

[toothaches]

A handful...but not, you know, face to face. Through Ouija boards. They always ask how you died, first thing. And...you know how it is.

_{[He scrubs at the back of his neck.]}

I don't, actually.

[It's said very matter-of-factly. She doesn't mean to be rude, she just... doesn't actually know.]

But I suppose I can imagine. Guess some people don't react well when things don't match up to their expectations, do they?

Even if those expectations don't make much sense.

[toothaches]

They really really don't...

_{[He finally makes eye-contact with her again.]}

Wanna..wanna start over?

[hunter2_0]

[After a moment, Artemis nods.]

Alright.

So... my name is Artemis. And yours?

[She actually cracks a very small smile there.]

_{[His face brightens instantly.]}

Like from Sailor Moon! That's pretty cool. I'm Maurice--Maurice Hutch. 1978 toooo...it's fuzzy but I was a student here so probably, fffffp, early nineties? Somethin' like that. I just stopped paying attention to dates. Freshmen come and freshmen go. They all need somebody to look out for 'em.

I... suppose so, yes.

It's nice to meet you, Maurice. ...What does looking out for freshmen even entail?

[toothaches]

What doesn't it entail? You gotta make sure creeps don't follow 'em to their dorms, you gotta make sure they don't pass out drunk face-up on the sidewalk and drown before finals, you gotta let 'em in when they forget their dorm card, all that good stuff.

...Guess that is a pretty significant list, yes. How do you keep people from passing out on the sidewalk?

[And who the hell is getting drunk right before finals?? Unbelievable.]

Well I mean...I can't. But I can roll 'em over onto their sides.

_{[He gives a ghosty shrug.]}

You fleshy people are heavy.

[But, come to think of it...] Why do you do all this?

_{[Her question catches him so off guard that his outline fluctuates.]}
