[Asriel gives Sal an appreciative, if a bit weak, smile, his arms wrapping themselves around his Sunkern again.]
Thank you for helping me...both of you. I guess I got a little scared, d-didn't I...?
[It's a bit embarrassing...what had happened to him, anyway? He'd been so strong, so confident...but he wouldn't go back to that life for anything. Even being a human was preferable.]
[The Nidorino mimics his trainer and gives the boy a grin, wiggling his big spiny ears as he does so.]
You'll get the hang of it! I've only been here a few months. It's easier when your Pokemon get bigger. Maybe try fighting just one Pokemon at once next time.
[He asks, tilting his head a little. He'd never owned a cell phone, but a lot of people in the Underground used them...he was pretty sure the head of the Royal Guard had one that the Royal Scientist had made her.]
I've never had anything like it, but...I know how to use it a little.
Yeah, kinda! A really fancy one. How about let's sid'down and I can show you.
[He can't help himself. THE HUTCH BLOOD IS STRONG WITHIN HIM he must teach this child The Thing. He motions for Asriel to follow him as he trundles over to a bench and takes a load off. Sally follows right after him with a happy 'doh doh'.]
First thing's first, you point it at your Pokemon so the camera can see and get a good read on 'em. Can even work when they're in the poke'balls too.
[If a bit hesitant at first, the little boy follows Maurice and takes a seat next to him after carefully setting Flowey on the ground. Once he's on the bench, his legs don't quite reach the ground.
He turns to pull his Gear from his backpack, carefully aiming it at the Sunkern. At once, the Gear barks out:]
Sunkern, the Seed Pokemon. Sunkern tries to move as little as it possibly can. It does so because it tries to conserve all the nutrients it has stored in its body for its evolution. It will not eat a thing, subsisting only on morning dew.
[...well that explains why he's having to carry him everywhere.]
[He leans over to get a look at the Sunkern's diagram.]
Hey, looks like he is gonna evolve! Hit the next button, I wanna see what it'll turn into! When Sally's grown up, he's going to look like a big blue Godzilla.
[...Oh. Well that was. Pretty cutsey. Poor kid looks disappointed. Maurice pats his weird rabbit dinosaur rhino thing, glad his pocket monster actually looks like it could win a fight.]
Maybe he'll be really strong! Don't let appearances fool ya! I mean...have you met a Spearow? I hope not.
[Asriel swallows, quickly shaking his head a little. It's...wow. That's grimly ironic, isn't it?]
N-no, it's okay. I just...it's a little funny, is all. I don't think I've seen a flower with arms and legs before.
[It's a lame excuse, but it's good enough. Flowey doesn't seem to understand his trainer's concern, but he's there regardless, leaning against the boy's feet as he talks.]
You oughtta see a Magneton! Or a Sigilyph! Man, those things are weird! Most everything looks like a a cat or a bird or a dinosaur, but I don't even know what that's supposed to be!

[He gives Asriel a grin. He's also interested in his little seed critter. Maurice feels like he sees a new Pokemon every day.]
Have you been here long?
no subject
[He says, watching Sally for a moment or two before turning his gaze back up to Maurice.]
It feels like longer, though.

Oh...Flowey will get...bigger?
[...man, he's having a hard enough time carrying the seed now.]

[Or you could name your boy pokemon Sally. Luckily, Sally doesn't mind.]

...]
O-oh.
[That...is a yellow flower. With a face.]
