THE FLUFF CORNER

NO LONGER IN USE
invidia: because i too am beautiful and want to fight everyone (i admire the betta fish)

[In spite of all the nerves about this...everything twisting his stomach into prickly knots, Envy can't help but give Henry an amused sort of smirk that's decidedly flirtatious.]

So you want to take my picture, then?
reluctantreceiver: (misfit)

[personal profile] reluctantreceiver 2016-04-14 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
If that's okay with you.

[The lightest shade of green was starting to appear across the bridge of what used to be his nose. On anybody else it would seem he was getting ill but no. This is just how trees blush.]
invidia: spank me? (OOOOH what are you gonna do)

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-14 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[He sees that. The smirk grows.]

I don't see why I wouldn't be.
reluctantreceiver: (follow me)

[...! !!!!!]

Okay, hold that thought.

[This time instead of leaving in a blind panic, Henry has to actually restrain himself and not seem OVERLY excited. That would be weird. Eventually he returns with a camera that is both old and new. New to him but old by his world's standards. Luckily he doesn't have to set up any flash powder or shoot Envy from under a blanket.]

You don't have to stand up.
invidia: OHMMMMMMMMMMM (zen as fuck)

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-14 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Envy watches Henry go, less nervously this time than the last (although he does miss having Henry's tail around his leg, as small a thing as that is), and stays where he is.]

[The camera gets a curious look, if only because it's more modern than Envy's familiar with.]

[He'd been sort of expecting there to be flash powder.]

Alright, then. Do you want a pose?

[As it is, he's just leaning back on one hand as he looks up, the other arm laying loosely across one knee.]

[The nymph makes a thoughtful little humming sound to himself as he considers this.]

This is fine.

[Snap! There is a pause. He moves around the manticore on his long legs so that he's behind him. Snap! It's art.]
invidia: everything is different now (... you can microwave poptarts??)

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Envy holds still while the photos are taken, except for how his ears twitch at each snap of the shutter.]

[Every time he thinks there's a break in the photography, he turns his head so that he can glance back and look at Henry. At least once, he just tilts his head back and looks at him partially upside-down.]
reluctantreceiver: (sad tree)

[personal profile] reluctantreceiver 2016-04-14 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
[When eye-contact is made, Henry pauses with his own ears swept out to the sides.]

Too much...?
invidia: but also kinda mad. (tryin 2 b smug)

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-14 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? Nah, I just can't help being curious. I think it comes with the species.

[He gives Henry a grin that he hopes is reassuring? He's not great at being reassuring.]

And your camera takes pictures a lot easier than what I'm used to.
reluctantreceiver: (tiny worried tree)

[personal profile] reluctantreceiver 2016-04-24 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Henry snaps another photo accidentally while Envy's mouth is wide open as he speaks. Whups.]

Really? What are cameras like in your world?
invidia: the first Pride was a ball of human fingers named Dostoyevsky (the others? you dont even WANNA know)

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-24 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this world's more advanced than mine with a lot of things...the cameras I'm used to are these clunky boxes with some....accordion thing attached to one end, that extends out with the lens on it.

[As he explains, he tries to gesture with his hands.]
reluctantreceiver: (tree hugger)

[personal profile] reluctantreceiver 2016-04-24 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow...I wish I could have seen that. I've seen a few like that on display back home but never any in action. In my world they were even more advanced than this one.

[The very tip of the nymph's vine tail starts to twitch as his interest grows.]

They've become so small. Small as...

[He makes a small square with his long fingers.]

And the pictures they take are so clear and bright.

[When Envy sees the size that Henry's pantomiming, his eyes widen in impressed, almost disbelieving surprise.]

Really? That small? How does everything fit in something like that?

I thought cameras needed all kinds of junk in them to work!

[He's not really versed on camera construction but he knows the basic idea.]

It's all digital--like the way our RSDOS machines take photos. There aren't any moving parts inside modern cameras except for the zoom lenses.

There are even cameras small enough to go inside of people to help surgeons see better.

[personal profile] invidia 2016-04-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[That's all actually really interesting. And, like earlier with the plants, it's...kind of nice, listening to Henry be excited about something, even if it's not really something that Envy would usually think about much.]

We didn't have anything like the RSDOS machines either, I think the closest we had was typewriters.

[About the surgeon cameras though...]

...even though there wouldn't be any light in there?
reluctantreceiver: (memories)

[personal profile] reluctantreceiver 2016-04-28 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the cameras have tiny lights on them too--LEDs I think. So they don't make heat, but I could be wrong.

[He snaps one more of Envy before lowering his camera.]

I can show you these in a couple of days.

[And figure out where the HELL to keep them.]
