The press of his little nose almost felt like a kiss, though it tickled more than one would. He had felt a little bad this morning when he had woken up since Maurice had to sleep, his stupid night schedule thing making it hard to even see Maurice, even if their schedules were pretty synched. Just, most of that time was sleeping and then Hanna heading off to work. He had been kind of irritated about the fact that none of their days off seemed to match, and having to work when Maurice was actually awake, and on his birthday no less, until the wee hours of the night? It had been kind of a balls sort of day.
He had kissed him good bye while he was still sleeping, but it was nice to see him here now, even if he was flirting with him in the worst way as he tried to hide in the boring item sections so he could be alone.
"Thanks...Sorry if I woke you up earlier by the way. I just wanted to get a kiss in before I left." He had gone a little early, in hopes of getting something a little more...home-flavor before work, but in this town, it was a little hard. He had managed to get some chinese, because it was cheap enough and chow mein sounded delicious, but in doing so, had almost been late. His detour had been a little further away than he'd hoped. The good thing about working at a department store though, was the possibility of buying cookies or something on his break, and it made up for not at least getting himself a cupcake or something.
"It's fine. I fell right back to sleep anyhow, you know me." He gave Hanna another nose kiss. "Anyway, the Birthday Bat is here to tell you that there's a pan of mashed potatoes with your name on it waiting at home. And, uh." The insides of his ears turned slightly purple. "Other things. But besides that, I've been saving up for a while. Anywhere in particular you wanna go when your shift ends?"
"Oh my god I love you," Comes Hanna's hushed whisper through childrens bedding, actually correcting some of the mishelved items so if he gets caught wandering, he has a decent excuse. Though, at the mention of 'other things', his eyebrow raises, curious. "What other things? That sounds suspicious."
And honestly enough he thinks just going home after work sounded good. Maybe they could grab a shitty dvd from his department and go home to watch it, but honestly he was thinking he'd be pretty tired after this. "Home sounds like heaven, honestly. I-" And mid sentence, Hanna will, true to his word grab hold of Maurice and shove him down his shirt, sucking in a breath to try and make room in there. He's glad his shirt is too big or this would look even weirder.
"Why aren't you over in Electronics? We don't have any coverage over there right now." Came a woman's voice at the end of the aisle, Hanna giving a signature smile that literally screamed 'walk all over me' and nodded towards the blankets he'd been fixing. "I heard the call of covers and couldn't help myself?" He manages, She doesn't sound too convinced, "Just get back there, Cross." He takes a few awkward steps towards the other end of the aisle, "What's wrong with your shirt anyways?" He froze, looking down at it, considering the oddly shaped bulge, "Uh, tumor. Pretty damn cancerous, I think it's infectious. Gotta go! shoplifter senses tingling!" He'll manage before turning heel and moving back towards Electronics in a brisk walk.
"She is so going to kill me. Tell me if she follows.
He was suddenly shoved below deck. He flattened himself out as much as he could but he was sort of unfortunately shaped when it came to stealth. HE stayed still, his tiny thumbs digging into Hanna's chest and one foot--
what was that?
His claws felt like they were catching on something metallic. He squirmed and twisted his head around to look down at a jostling, blurry mess of. Something. Suddenly a command came from above and he made quick work of scurrying topside again, flattening his ears, and peeking his tiny red eyes over Hanna's shirt collar.

It wasn't nearly as impressive though because he kind of sounded like a chipmunk.
"Also hey, nerd, happy birthday."
He pressed his flat little bat nose against Hanna's neck.
