Henry eventually had to stop because he made himself dizzy. He clapped a hand to the side of his head and was content to watch Lust lose her shit. What a pretty laugh!
Why did that thought make a small part of him in the back of his head want to curl up under a table and scratch his eyes out?
Oh well!
"I think I got one of those in my stocking. It was a Wartortle."
"I saw a whole line of them in a shop window once. Eevees and various evolutions." Lust settled herself, though a few breathless little laughs still escaped.
This really was nice.
"There are so many Pokemon things everywhere. Sometimes I stop and think about it. We may call ourselves their Trainers, but really we're all just tiny cogs in the great machine of existence that exists solely for them."
"Where I'm from, Pokemon is just a video game. I don't think the people who made it put that much thought into it."
Prince took offense to that and let out a defiant, "Veon!" and propped his paws against Henry's knee. Then Lust's knee! WHY HAS THE BOBBING STOPPED? You two are awful at this!
"Maybe the world is just trying to make up for what wasn't made for it. I don't know." He started tweezing bits of sparkles that weren't there out of Prince's fur.
"I don't think it matters what it is in your world, only what is in this world." Lust raised an eyebrow at Prince. What was he so upset about? They were just engaging in the time honored inebriated tradition of armchair philosophy.
"It's a nice world, though. I like it, I like being here. No matter the why or physics of it all. I want to stay here."
"Me too." Henry hardly went a day without thinking about what was waiting for him if he wound up taking one of those long naps. Going to sleep was sort of unnerving sometimes. His eyes suddenly go wide. Uh oh. The edges of things were getting all weird and thread-like.
NO. NO BAD TRIP. NOT DOIN' THIS TODAY.
Henry pressed his heels of his palms against his eyes.
The pleasant evening looked as though it were turning less than pleasant for Henry. Lust leaned forward slowly, expression concerned, reaching over Prince to hover her hand over her housemate's shoulder. She didn't actually touch him, not just yet. Just in case.
"Nnnnnn," was all he said at first. The weird threads ALWAYS started bad trips. He could change it. He'd learned how. "Can you find my 'gear?"
Prince was also worried because he had not been a part of the household long enough to know what his trainer wigging out was like. He whined and started patting Henry's face with his ribbons.
Lust had to take a moment when she stood, to orient herself. There was an odd sensation of being upside down, and the room swam and blurred. The fresh stuff was strong.
But she managed to get her feet and the room all sorted out in relation to each other, and began the search for Henry's 'gear. Luckily, it didn't take long. It helped that currently, non-moving objects seemed to have a very distinct outline in Lust's eyes.
She came toddling back on careful steps, the 'gear cradled carefully in her arms lest she drop it. She didn't quite trust her reaction time right now.
Henry removed one hand form his eyes and squinted. Yup. His gear. He reached for it. Then came the seemingly long and fumbling process of scrolling through his files. Finally he found it.
A recorded video of what looked like a hotel television played. The recording had been flipped on just as soon as a commercial had started playing. It had an annoying jingle and a bunch of overly happy trainers and their pokemon advertising some chain restaurant. When it ended, he played it again. And again. By the fifth time, his shoulders had un-bunched.
Lust shook her head and tried to recall the discussion, but she couldn't quite grasp it. It was like slippery little fish between her fingers.
"....Pokemon toys?" That...sounded possibly right. She had resumed her place on the couch and was swirling her wine glass idly. The liquid changed colors inside the glass.
For good measure, Henry played the annoying commercial again. The jingle reminded him so much of a commercial from home--somewhere before all the ghosts and monsters and pokemon and crazy things.
"I think you're right." He nodded once, now a little too dizzy to put on the bobblehead act again. "This summer we should have a memorial for the Not Lapras."

It felt like she was moving through thick water.
"Henry? What's wrong?"
