Hanna gasped. "Y-you're heartless!" He managed, turning his head away as if he were fighting back tears. And then...he started to shrink.
Just like usual, the transformation didn't take long, but if at all possible, those big dragon eyes of his, while they did shrink down to fit the man's face he now wore, looked bigger than they usually were. Just so blue.
The picture of misery and sadness. There was some wetness there, making his eyes glassy, like he could just cry at the drop of a hat. "How could you!"
Maurice sat up a little straighter. Another transformation? So soon? But sure enough, there was that head of wild red hair and those enormous blue eyes leaning forward, begging his royalness for a drop of mercy!
And it was hard--it was hard to keep up his own teasing when Hanna was just so convincing! He really hadn't been lying when he'd said he had a terrible time telling when the wizard was joking or not.
Of all things to come out of Maurice's mouth, a hiccup was what it ended up being.
Those big blue eyes stared up at him all the more, little earring dangling, and then the expression changed to inquisitive curiosity. His hands lifted up and rested on both of his cheeks, staring some more, and then he pinched them.
"How come it's harder to say no when I'm like this but there's no sympathy for the dragon face? Don't tell me it doesn't happen, I'm sensing a pattern here!"
Maurice felt the little hairs on the back of his neck stand up when Hanna's human face leaned in close. It was interesting, the way there were little wild flecks in his eyes. Now that he knew that Hanna was a dragon, it was easier for him to pick out his tells.
He didn't get to comment on this though because suddenly Hanna's hands were on his face. They were sort of war--
"Aaow ow ow hey!" He pulled his head away and sort of half swatted at Hanna. "I'm usually looking at your chin. Or up your nose! I'm the shortest member of my family, it's not my fault."
Well, at least he was honest? "Oh...well, I guess that makes sense." He didn't feel especially tall or large, but he supposed compared to an average human, he would be.
"Not the best view...I'll try and be better about eye contact then." He'll tap his foot a moment in thought before nodding to him, curious, "Are you feeling better then? Ready to tackle the day?"
"That would help." Maurice rubbed his face and sat his cup aside. He thought. Yes, he figured it was time to stand. He waved his hand for Hanna to move and slowly stood up. Maurice let out a groan and rubbed his back. Oof. He wouldn't be sleeping up against a wall any time soon.
Now that he was standing, he could look downward at Hanna and after a thought, tipped his head up and then tilted his head to the side so that he was looking at him with just the one eye.
"You look like this all the time."
Once he was done being a pest, he rubbed his back again and looked down the long hall.
"I think so. I'm ready to do some indoor chores today. If I remember correctly, I was almost done with one scroll...unless you've gone and put it somewhere."
"You could have just told me you didn't like looking up my nose, My Lord." He returns, taking the cheapshot of getting him in the gut when Maurice was being an ass. He doesn't hit him hard, just enough to be a surprise and then huffs, walking away.
"On the top shelf where you can't reach, obviously," Though of course, it was exactly where he had left it. He had only really put the furs and things away. "Now get to work, vacation is over."

"W-well then you'll just...have...to be good!"
He was still going to try.
