"Not yet there isn't." He grins at Maurice, "You haven't gone in yet."
The uninterested attendant wasn't anything Hanna wasn't used to, part of him wondering if they could get in without tickets if they just walked on by. He had some, so he didn't feel the need to try, but again, wondered how many actually had.
"You really must want an ass whoopin today. I didn't know you was into that...THREE!"
He gave the ginger a shove before trudging up the stairs and disappearing into the funhouse. The stampede noise the vampire made when he went pretty much anywhere startled the attendant into looking up in time to see Maurice's coat hem disappear. He gave Hanna a dozy look and started to say something when his phone chimed again.
"Wha- Am not!" He shouts back, just about to follow when the attendant looks up. He almost goes to search in his pockets but the guy shrugs and so does Hanna, bolting after his loser boyfriend.
The mirror maze was an attraction or two deep. Maurice hadn't quite made it to the end of the first room. This one was a hall of distorted mirrors, all of which the vampire stopped and pouted at.
"Man, this sucks." He was glad he'd followed his delinquent instincts and charged in. He wasn't gonna pay for this! Maurice waved his arms in a feeble attempt to appear.
When Maurice stops, it make it easier for Hanna to catch up to him. He has to laugh when he gets to the mirrors, walking through them and shrinking and growing in weird ways as he finally stands next to Maurice, looking especially long in this one.
"That's a bummer." Though, looking at this, and not even seeing any of Maurice's clothes in the mirror? He gets an idea.
When he's sure Maurice's eyes are closed, he shifts behind him, glancing around to make sure that he was still visible in the mirror even if he was standing behind him. It takes a moment a bit of adjusting, but after a while he manages to make himself look as ridiculous as possible in that mirror.
Maurice eased open one eye. And then the other. He burst out laughing at he warped pose Hanna was pulling in the mirror. Okay, so maybe this wasn't such a bust!
"You look like-- you look like this figurine my sister had once that melted cause she left it on the brick heater!"
He snorts, enjoying Maurice's reaction. He had looked kind of bummed out, and that wasn't supposed to be the feelings today inspired. the night was supposed to be fun.
"Do I? With the weird face and stretched out limbs?"
"When do I not?" He returns, ignoring said zinger with some good old fashioned self depreciation.
He lumbers over dramatically to the next one though, already posing as he walks, distorting his face until he stands in front of it, the mirror one of those with waves in it that both stretches and pulls in different spots.
Maurice had no way of guessing which each mirror would do. When Hanna tested it out, he furrowed his brow and tilted his head as if he were trying to decipher a painting in a museum.
"Aaaah, I'm gonna have to agree. This one doesn't look like anything, it's just...weird...what if you crouched down?"
As soon as he does, Hanna's head begins to elongate, caught on one of the curves of the mirror and extending upwards. It's an 100% improvement and he laughs half to tears because of it.
Maurice starts wheezing again and leans against Hanna, mashing him down further so that his hair takes up most of the mirror's distortion.
"Now you're Marge! C'mon, let's go see what else this place has to throw at us!"
He made his way down the mirror alley and turned the corner. These walls were dark and painted with spots lit with blacklight. Tassles hung from the ceiling and large padded poles created a dark maze.
"Too easy!" Maurice's fangs and bleach blond hair shone in the blacklight.
He snorts some more and follows Maurice, blinking to attempt to readjust his vision to the darkness. The black lights were kind of funky, making his shoes half glow on the white checkers.
Maurice admired the both of them and grinned even wider.
"I was kinda afraid this whole place wouldn't work on me." He tugged his shirt away from his chest. The white fish bone print glowed brightly as well, making him look like some kind of grim carebear. "Your teeth!"
He allowed himself the disgustingly mushy thought that Hanna's smile was even brighter than usual in here.
"This makes me want to go laser tagging." Which he hadn't done in forever.
He could attempt to just play black light tag in the dark, but the maze stopped that thought in it's tracks. Instead he just beams at Maurice to show off his pearly whites and goes to move forward.
"Laser tagging? Y'mean like those nerf things on TV?"
Maurice's mental world did not include a place were you could go pretend to shoot at each other that did not involve expensive paintball equipment. But he would ask about that later because if what he thought was about to happen was about to happen, he would rather wait. He broke into a bashful grin and backed up against one of the padded poles.
"What? No, like. A laser tag place you go to and it's got a room like this with hiding places and you have guns and packs you carry around that shoot like, laser point lights. It's really fun."
Moving with the intent to go to the next section, he pauses, raising an eyebrow. "Are you?" Hanna turns, hands on his hips, and he moves towards Maurice, inspecting him. "What am I going to do?"
"Well I can't see so well, so I don't want to stomp on your toes, getting it to let go!" He takes a few steps closer, reaching out and putting his hands on Maurice's arms.
"Don't worry, your knight in shining T-shirt is here."
He couldn't do it. He couldn't keep from covering his face. They'd been together nearly a year and he still got all flustered. It was a nice kind of flustered though.

ZING.
Maurice moves before he can be swatted, stopping at another mirror.
"Do this one!"

For real, this was probably the darkest place at the fair and if they were gonna get any privacy, it was going to be in here.
