[MEME] OH NO A GHOST

OKAY LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS.
I wanna play a ghost. Below are some prompts.
I'm not super picky about setting or 'verse.

A- Your character is a paranormal investigator, an obnoxious tv show host, or is otherwise exploring an area that is said to be haunted for whatever reason. Maybe it's a dare.

B- My character's ghost just SHOWS UP in your character's home. Did your character buy some haunted shit off ebay? Maybe my character died nearby or was summoned via Ouija board by some stupid teenagers at that party you hosted last month. Either way, you got yourself a haunted house now. Congrats.

C- Your character is also a ghost. Maybe they died together. Maybe my character is new to this whole being dead thing and yours shows them the ghostly ropes. Maybe it's the other way around. Either way, ghost adventures are had. _{Not currently looking for new PLSs with this plot!}

D- Your character is a necromancer-type-person and has summoned mine's spirit to do their bidding.

E- Your character is an exorcist and is here to shoo mine out of their current haunt or otherwise help them move on.

F- Our characters are friends. Mine died and has returned to hang out/help/finish some business with yours.

G- Your character moves into the house mine is currently haunting. EXCUSE U.

H- POSSESSION. It happened somehow.

_{[BUT ALAS! Kou, you are the summoner. Maurice is the summonee and he can't leave you without being properly dismissed, so like a reluctant poodle on one of those dangerous retractable leashes, the man drifts after him. He's a big fat guy too and rough around the edges. Wild hair, dark clothes, tattoos. Or one tattoo anyway.]}

Stop running!

[Holy shit, nope, nope he is not accepting this summoner life.]

Stop following me then!

[Sorry Maurice, your summoner tends to be eighteen going on five.]

[toothaches]

I can't!

_{[He tries to stop himself against a shelf and breezes right through it.]}

I'm really sorry! I'd haunt somewhere else if I knew how!

[Alright, that makes him finally stop. He pauses, turning around slowly to look at the ghost he's accidentally summoned. A hand moves unconsciously to hold his magatama necklace around, as if that would be some sort of protection.

His eyes narrow as he takes in the sight of the man.]

Well, figure out how!

[toothaches]

_{[Maurice, the world's worst party balloon, rubs his arm and finds something that isn't the boy's judgy face. Oof, this is embarrassing. Normally he'd be overjoyed that somebody could see him at all, he's daydreamed about it for years. None of the daydreams went like this.]}

Hey, you called me. I was minding my own business haunting the bar I died behind...

Yeah and I'm not a fucking necromancer.

[But he'd done it, he'd summoned a ghost. With a small, annoyed, groan he dragged his hands down his face. He'd summoned a ghost who haunted a bar. Of course. The judgy looks turns into a glare.]

Even if I had meant too I wouldn't have summoned a goddamn drunk!

[There were other people he would've liked to see again, if only to say goodbye.]

_{[The ghost grows a little more transparent in the face of Kou's anger. He knows his drinking habits are what got him killed, he doesn't need a reminder, thanks. Maurice tries to drift away from him, but he can only go so far without being dismissed.]}

I'm pretty sure you are, dude. No offence.

[reflected_image]

[He opens his mouth to contest that, no, he's not, but realizes that would be useless. Especially considering the sheer fact that there was a ghost in front of him, one he summoned.]

... I need a cigarette.

[And on that note he turns around, making a beeline for the exit of the library.]

C'mon. You're gonna have to follow anyways, yeah?

[toothaches]

_{[He has to admit that being invited, even if it's grudgingly, sure feels better than being dragged. Maurice drifts along behind him and moves out of the way of most objects out of habit. He'd breeze right through them but it feels weird and he doesn't like it.]}

Uhm...hey, this might be a dumb question, but where are we?

A library.

[Did he summon a stupid ghost on top of a drunk?

He scowls, moving to hold the front door open for Maurice before realizing how dumb that must be. Ghosts don't need to go through open doors. So he let's it swing shut, belatedly realizing that it might have still been a little rude to let it close right in Maurice's face.

Once outside he fishes a pack of cigarettes from his back pocket along with his lighter. He walks away from the entry way as he lights it up, glancing around to make sure they're alone before answering the question.]

Welcome to Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry.

[Said with the straightest face, even though there's a sign off to the right of him that says 'Greensville University'.]

[toothaches]

_{[RUDE RUDE RUDE! Maurice cringes as the door swings straight through him and he pats himself down to make sure he's all there before following. He does notice the sign by the time Kou gives his not-so-trustworthy reply. A slow frown makes itself home on the dead man's face. He shoves his hands into his pockets.]}

You don't have to be so much of a jackass about it...

_{[He wrinkles his nose at the smoke. Suddenly, the boy's cigarette goes out.]}

Those things'll kill you.

My bad, you've caught me on a day ending in 'y'.

[The smirk only lasts a few seconds. It soon turns into a scowl as the cigarette goes out. He doesn't make the connection that it might have gone out thanks to the ghost. He tries relighting it again, side eyeing Maurice.]

No shit, but I like my slow death.

[He doesn't, actually, it's just hard to quit.]

[toothaches]

<sub>[When Kou goes to work relighting his smoke, he'll find that the embers fade as soon as they catch. Maurice, hands still in his pockets, is looking elsewhere.]

[The only thing missing is the inconspicuous whistling.]</sub>

You'd probably be joining me sooner than you think. Won't that be fun?

Death doesn't want me.

[He states this with utmost certainty and a little frustration as the embers continue to die. The sleeve of his jacket slips down a little, a black semicolon tattoo standing out against the pale skin on his wrist.

With an irritated huff he flicks the cigarette to the ground, snuffing it out with his sneaker out of habit before pulling out another one. Maybe that one was just messed up?]

Would you rather I go drinking?

[toothaches]

_{[Maurice looks back over his shoulder at Kou and his growing frustration. He's grinning now, chuckles trying their best to escape him.]}

At least that's a more exciting way to go. I mean. Look at me.

_{[He points to the dripping wound across his brow that's stuck with him since his death.]}

You think I got this sitting at home?

[reflected_image]

Given you're haunting a bar? No.

[He pauses in his attempts to light the cigarette, looking at the ghost proper. His eyes move to the wound, head canting to one side.]

If I had a guess, blunt force trauma from something. You smack your head falling?

[toothaches]

I was murdered.

_{[Maurice says this with an almost airy, proud tone. It used to upset him, but now he'd sort of settled into the idea.]}

[reflected_image]

[There's something chilling about that, as well as the tone he uses. The unlit cigarette hangs unlit between his lips.]

Sorry.

[It's a soft apology, but one nonetheless.]

_{[Well there's a reaction he doesn't expect. Maurice's bloodied brows drift up.]}

It's not so bad. At least I didn't die suffocating on my own vomit, right? They'll catch her one day, but 'till then, I'm taking care of the bar.

Which I'd really like to get back to.

[Just because he's an asshole doesn't mean he can't feel bad when someone tells him they were murdered.]

Do you remember what she looked like?

[Wait. What was he doing? He wasn't going to play detective to find a ghosts killer. He resumes his attempt to light his cigarette.]

Why? Some big ghost party going on?

[toothaches]

_{[Sorry, buddy, the D.A.R.E. ghost isn't going to permit it. Did it get chilly all of the sudden?]}

Yeah. She was hot, like...shampoo commercial hot. Really tall, black hair, she had this sweet-ass firebird. She lured me out back telling me it was acting up and them WHAMMO!

_{[He punched through the air.]}

No, I'm the only ghost there but...I just belong there, you know?

[reflected_image]

[Goddamit, he just wants some nicotine. WHY'D HE HAVE TO GO AN ACCIDENTALLY SUMMON THE D.A.R.E GHOST!?]

What the hell is a firebird? [He listens, frowning a little.] Did you do something to piss her off?

[toothaches]

It's a kind of fancy car.

_{[He drifts as far as his lead allows and tries to get a better look at the place he's found himself in.]}

Nah. I'd never seen her before in my life. I think she just wanted a free fix. Or possibly my wallet. I don't know. I can't leave the bar so I don't know what she did with my body. I was in the paper though so somebody found me.

[Where they are is a typical college. Across from the library are large buildings, the windows on the first floors showing students lingering in the classrooms. There are other students milling around outside, walking to the different buildings that lined sidewalk or the dorms.

Or well. It's as typical as the college can be if one didn't factor in the occasional student passing by with a ghost or another familiar, or that some were practicing spells in the classrooms.

Kou was only half joking about this being Hogwarts.]

Probably your wallet for a free fix. [Giving up on the cigarette he tucks the unlit one behind his ear.] Right, I'm going to grab my stuff, then we're gonna figure out how the hell to send you back where you came from.

[toothaches]

_{[Things seem normal enough until a fellow dead man passes them by. Maurice throws on the breaks and twists his head around backwards to watch them go. He starts to call out to them when Kou's influence yanks him along.]}

Where ARE we? There aren't--that chick has a black cat! There aren't...is this what I was missing in my machines classes?
